Which substance is injected into the lips?

We only inject into the lips of our patients pure hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in all our cells, but breaks down as the body ages. Injecting this gel-like compound into the lips will improve volume and moisturise/improve skin texture.
This is undoubtedly the safest way to brighten and volumise the lips, as hyaluronic acid dissolves easily when needed.  

Is the procedure painful?

Before the procedure, we use a strong, top-quality local anaesthetic (cream) to numb the lip area, so the pain is completely acceptable for patients. Strategic injection with very fine needles ensures minimal discomfort. Ice packs are applied after the procedure to reduce immediate swelling and bruising, and lip balms can be applied immediately after the procedure. (Please note that swelling and bruising may be slightly worse the next day.)  

How long do the results last?

The results of Juvederm fillers usually last for one year, but due to the mobility of the lip tissue, the duration of usually between nine months and one year. However, many of our patients opt for a refresh/upgrade every six months, which largely depends on their personal preferences.  

How much does lip augmentation cost?

The cost of lip augmentation varies depending on the amount of filler used. In our clinic Price starts at €250.  

Can lip fillers achieve a natural look?

At NYD Clinic, we specialise in natural-looking results that enhance our clients' facial features without altering them. We always perform our procedures conservatively, starting with a touch of filler and adding more as needed. In general, we recommend only 0.5 ml to new clients to add subtle volume and shape to the lips.
It's also important to us that we take each individual into account and develop a personalised plan for each client to ensure that we achieve the desired results.  

What are the risks and side effects of lip augmentation?

The most common side effects of lip augmentation are swelling and bruising.

How long does it take to recover?

After the procedure, there may be some minor swelling or bruising, which usually lasts up to two days. Avoid exercise the next day to reduce swelling.

How long after lip augmentation can I use lip balm or lipstick?

There is no medical reason why you should not be able to use make-up, including lip gloss, lip balm or lipstick, immediately after lip augmentation. The lips may be slightly sensitive after the procedure, so it is advisable to wait a day before applying make-up to the area where the procedure was performed.  

How will my lips feel after the procedure?

Once the swelling subsides, your lips should not feel any different from before if the procedure was done correctly. Your lips will feel the same as before, only fuller!
