In potem občutek skrbi in strahu.

Ločimo modrikaste, rjavkaste in vdrte podočnjake.

Svojo neverjetno moč najprej pokaže v nosečnosti, ko kljub slabostim, bruhanju in izčrpanosti zmore hoditi v službo do zadnjega meseca pred porodom.

Spolnost in intimnost sta pomemben del partnerskega odnosa. Sodobna regenerativna ginekologija prinaša prelomne odgovore, saj z naravnim obnavljanjem tkiva in izboljšanjem prekrvavitve uspešno celi nekatere vzroke disparevnije.

Young drivers are not necessarily poor or irresponsible drivers. However, statistics show that they cause the most road accidents, most often due to speeding and overestimating their own abilities. If we add the use of mobile phones whilst driving to the mix, the risk of an accident increases by as much as 400 %. The training of prospective drivers (driving schools) and the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (Occupational, Traffic and Sports Medicine) play a crucial and legally mandated role in reducing risks on the roads, particularly in preventing dangerous habits.

In addition to recovering, a sole trader must also consider who will carry out the work during their absence and how ongoing liabilities will be settled. We present the most important information for 2026.

A nice office, plants and a modern kitchen can improve the feel of a space. However, they cannot replace unclear expectations, a chronic staff shortage, humiliation, unpredictable schedules or the need to be constantly on call.

No food is as delicious as that which we eat during our lunch break at work. There are two reasons for this: on the one hand, ravenous hunger after hours of intensive mental or physical work, and on the other hand, the brain recognises lunch during work as a reward for the effort made, which increases pleasure. However, it is not just about taste. Research has shown that healthy meals with a balanced composition (more dietary fibre, fewer saturated fats, controlled carbohydrate intake) have tangibly reduced fatigue among employees, increased work energy levels and improved overall mood.

Today, there is significantly more sick leave than a decade ago. According to NIJZ data, the number of lost working days in Slovenia has increased from around 11 million in 2014 to approximately 19.5 million in recent years. The reasons are not solely physical illnesses. Stress, anxiety, burnout and other consequences of the modern lifestyle are also playing an increasingly important role. The working environment has changed dramatically in recent years: expectations are higher, the pace is faster, and the boundary between work and leisure is increasingly blurred. Constant accessibility, the feeling of perpetual readiness and the pressure for greater efficiency can have a significant long-term impact on the mental and physical health of employees — and consequently on the frequency of sick leave.

Did you know that one in ten drivers falls asleep at the wheel over a two-year period? The risk is highest amongst professional drivers, as nearly 21 % of Slovenian lorry drivers have been found to be chronically fatigued. Long, monotonous journeys, time pressures from logistics companies and a disrupted natural circadian rhythm due to night work are just some of the reasons why lorry drivers are more likely to fall asleep at the wheel. So, the next time we talk about the safety of professional drivers, alongside the technical condition of the vehicle and compliance with traffic regulations, let’s also consider the health of the person behind the wheel.

That man is a social being is written deep into our genes. Throughout history, an individual simply could not survive alone outside the group, so our need for society has been inscribed into everything we are. If society therefore pushes us to the margins, or if we do not feel accepted and loved enough, the brain activates the same centres as during physical pain. Nature uses this pain to warn us that exclusion from the community is dangerous for survival. Therefore, for a long and high-quality life, a person does not only need a healthy body. They also need a sense of genuine belonging.

If you could choose, which would you prefer, a longer life with lower quality, or a shorter life with higher quality? We can probably agree that a long life in itself is not enough if it is accompanied by decades of exhaustion, pain, and loss of independence. Longevity is therefore not just the number of years, but the ability to actually live those years.

The desire to extend life and achieve immortality has accompanied humanity since the dawn of civilisation. From drinking liquid gold to consuming mummy powder, human imagination truly knows no bounds. The paradox, however, is that these very ‘prestigious methods’ of ensuring longevity often drastically shortened lives. Every generation is wiser and has more tools at its disposal to make safer decisions. Today, therefore, we know the main areas that influence quality and long years in old age: diet, physical activity and sleep. The choices we make for our bodies in our youth, including smoking and the ability to relax, mercilessly manifest themselves in old age. The key question is therefore not »How long to stay young?« but rather: How to maintain the good functioning of the heart, brain, muscles and metabolism for as long as possible? So that we can enjoy ourselves even in old age.

The answer to that question is neither yes nor no. Just like with any therapy, treatment and ultimately diagnostic method, weight loss using peptides also carries a certain risk. Some side effects are predictable and can be avoided by strictly following a doctor's instructions, while others creep up even on the most conscientious patients. Surely, the first good decision we can make is to avoid using unapproved injectable peptides, which are easily obtainable online today.

Retatrutide, Ozempic and Mounjaro often appear in the same breath online, but they do not mean the same thing. “Retatrutide” is a lay term for retatrutide, a research molecule that is not yet approved for routine use. Ozempic is a brand name for semaglutide, approved primarily for type 2 diabetes, while Wegovy and Mounjaro are now approved for the treatment of obesity.

You surely know a pregnant woman or two for whom brushing her teeth is a source of dread. It turns out that brushing combines several nausea triggers at the same time: an increased gag reflex, the taste of mint, and the foamy texture of toothpaste in the mouth. Despite the nausea, brushing must by no means be abandoned during pregnancy. Hormonal changes can cause the gums to become more sensitive, swollen, and prone to bleeding, while dental plaque and tartar can build up on the teeth more quickly. Dental tartar is not just an aesthetic problem; it represents a source of bacteria and inflammation that can directly endanger the course of the pregnancy and the health of the foetus via the bloodstream.

The phrase “weight-loss peptides” sounds modern, scientific, almost futuristic and is consequently receiving a huge amount of attention online. Yet under this same label very different things are hidden. At one end are strictly regulated medicines, such as semaglutide, tirzepatide and the investigational retatrutide. At the other end are online products sold without clear dosage, without evidence of effectiveness in humans and without reliable quality control.

Certain jobs require more than just a general medical examination. Working at height and night work require a more detailed assessment of specific aspects of a worker's health status. A precise evaluation of vision, balance and the cardiovascular system is crucial for the safe performance of work where even a momentary dizziness, reduced concentration or impaired orientation can pose a serious risk of injury. That is why occupational health examinations are not merely a formality, but an important preventive measure used to assess whether an individual is fit to safely perform demanding work, both for themselves and for the people around them.

Working from home at first glance seems almost ideal: no early morning rising, no stressful waiting in traffic jams and with the possibility of spending the working day anywhere — even on a lounger by the pool. However, working from home, if we are not careful and prepared for certain adjustments, can also bring unwanted consequences, among the most common being back, neck and shoulder pain.

Scar treatment is a broad field characterised by both the specific features of numerous types of scars and an ever-increasing number of potential treatment modalities. Corticosteroid injections certainly remain a cornerstone in the treatment of pathological scars due to their proven efficacy, accessibility and relatively safe profile. However, modern dermatology is increasingly directing treatment towards individualised, combination protocols that take into account the type of scar, location, duration and the patient's expected outcomes.

During the course of life, every body gets some kind of scar. Some are barely noticeable, while others can become bothersome, stubborn and increasingly large. Instead of settling down, they remain raised, reddish, itchy or painful, and sometimes even slowly spread beyond the borders of the original injury. Such changes are known as hypertrophic and keloid scars. Unfortunately, their treatment is ‘resistant’ to numerous methods, which makes the importance of corticosteroids all the greater.

In some cases, the body does not know how to stop the wound or injury healing process in time. The result is hypertrophic and keloid scars, one of the most stubborn forms of irregular skin healing. For many years, they were treated primarily as an aesthetic problem, but today we know that this is a much more complex biological process. In the background are chronic inflammation, overactive fibroblasts, excessive collagen production and impaired communication between skin cells. Surgical incisions and numerous other methods are no match for them, which is why corticosteroid treatment has remained the first choice in treatment for several decades.
