Laser lip augmentation - LipLase

Want better, fuller lips but too scared of needles? LipLase™ photonic needle-free therapy is perfect for you.

Needle-free laser therapy for lip augmentation

Fuller lips have always been associated with youth and attractiveness.

The ideal lips should have the following characteristics: fullness and volume, a correct balance between the upper and lower lips and a well-defined vermilion rim. However, many people do not realise that lip size is usually influenced by genetics and loss of collagen due to ageing.

Fortunately, there are solutions that help us achieve fuller, plumper lips naturally, such as LipLase™.

Although we offer a variety of lip fillers at the NYD clinic, the many patients with a fear of needles choose LipLase™, to achieve similar results for lip volumisation.

LipLase™ is a non-surgical and non-invasive lip augmentation that uses laser energy to stimulates collagen and elastin production for the inner and outer lips. Also improves Cupid's bow and gives the lips a rounded, defined shape.

Unlike existing lip augmentation procedures, which require needles to be inserted into the skin, there are no needles with LipLase.

What is the difference between Liplase™ and lip fillers?

Fotona LipLase™ is a non-invasive procedure that gives the patient fuller, more velvety lips using a laser as an alternative to injections. The results of the procedure are more natural and discreet, as the collagen in the lips is stimulated and revitalised.

Lip fillers work by injecting a solution into the lips and the results are immediate, as the lips immediately feel and look much fuller and plumper. However the filler breaks down over time and metabolised by the body.

As a result, the results last only four to six months and require maintenance treatments. Many patients are impressed with the results of fillers, but find maintenance is laborious and expensive.

Fotona LipLase, on the other hand, uses a laser instead of injecting a solution into the skin, which stimulates and accelerates the body's natural production of collagen.

Results after laser treatment are visible, but are not as pronounced as after a lip filler treatment. However, within four to six months, patients will notice that their lips softer, brighter and fuller.

How does Liplase work?

Fotona LipLase therapy uses the Er:YAG photon laser, which stimulates the formation of new collagen in the lips.

Through carefully tailored transitions, the optical energy is transmitted in single sub-second long pulse sequences to prevent heating. In 6-7 pulses, the surface tissue in the lips triggers the production of new collagen, resulting in tighter and fuller lips.

Patients who want deeper collagen stimulation can benefit from the PIANO laser treatment, which is performed intraorally on the mucosa of the lips. This reaches deeper skin tissues.

After the treatment, you can expect results in three phases:

  • Phase 1: Some swelling occurs immediately after treatment and lasts for about a week. Immediate increase in volume.
  • Phase 2: There may be some flaking on the surface of the lips, but this is normal and will last for a maximum of 48 hours after the treatment. Patients will be given the necessary moisturising oils to prevent a greater amount of flaking.
  • Phase 3: neocollagenesis occurs, which means development of new collagen.
Although patients may notice a significant improvement immediately after leaving the room, results will continue to improve after the prescribed number of sessions.
