How does laser removal of leg capillaries work?
The energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood in the vein, converted into heat and the walls of the vein are destroyed.
The wavelength used targets haemoglobin, causing the blood vessels to heat up. The laser energy damages the envelope of the blood vessels, causing them to break down. Dhealthy veins supply blood to the area, and the body's immune system removes the dead tissue in the same way as it removes a bruise.
Compared to other wavelengths, which primarily target the superficial layers of lesions, the target of the Nd:YAG laser is also the system from which the blood vessels are fed, which enables a long-lasting result.
This procedure is very safe and effective how to remove different types of vascular lesions.

Laser effect on the veins

AMONG THE ITEMS:
Haemoglobin absorbs the non-invasive laser energy and converts it into heat energy.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
The blood coagulates and the vessel wall collapses.

THE WEEKS FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE:
Over time, the vein is reabsorbed by the body and disappears.

Frequently asked questions
Laser treatment for leg veins usually takes 10-15 minutes.
For most patients, one or two treatments are sufficient, but the number of treatments needed depends on the following factors:
- number of veins,
- the colour of the veins,
- the size of the blood vessels and
- surface area of blood vessels.
Most patients notice a significant improvement in most treated veins within two to six weeks after treatment. However, the final results may not be clear until several months later.
Over time, new broken veins may appear. These veins can also be removed with a laser.
The ultimate goal is to achieve immediate results and leave the clinic with no visible veins. This is only possible with some veins.
Many veins will take several weeks to disappear and may look worse before they look better.
Removing capillaries on the legs probably will not cause any side effectssuch as swelling, bruising and blisters.
Make-up will easily cover most adverse skin reactions that occur.
Tiny blood clots can form in the vein. They usually look like thin blue streaks. Sometimes they will make the vein look darker than it was, and you may think that laser removal didn't work. These clots are harmless and will disappear in about three weeks along with the vein.
Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen with at least ZF 30 for about 3 days after the treatment.
Avoid hot baths, saunas and hot tubs for a few days.
Otherwise, there are no restrictions. You can get back to your daily activities straight away.
Varicose veins are caused by ageing, genetics, sun damage, smoking, trauma, heat, alcohol, direct prolonged pressure on the skin, pregnancy, hormones, poor circulation, diet and medication...
Light is absorbed by dark objects and reflected by light objects. For example, a black car gets very hot in the sun, but a white car does not.
In laser treatment, the energy is absorbed by the blood (dark) and reflected by the skin (light). The hot blood damages the vascular wall, causing the vein to contract and close. The skin is unharmed because it has reflected most of the energy.
There is no easy answer to this question, as pain perception and tolerance vary greatly from person to person.
Laser pulses feel like a gust or a prick.
Absolutely not. The wavelength of light that causes skin cancer is in the ultraviolet range of the spectrum. The Nd:YAG laser produces light at the opposite end of the spectrum in the infrared range and should not cause skin cancer.
Veins destroyed by the laser are not restored.
In the case of rosacea, new veins will develop because laser removal does not change the underlying condition. Therapies for rosacea are usually repeated every two to five years.
The darker your skin, the more dangerous the laser is for your skin. This is because the melanin in your skin absorbs the laser light and heats your skin.
In most cases, a little tan does not matter. However, in some individuals, this hint of tanning can cause your skin to cross the threshold for burning or pigmentary changes when treating the veins.

Our patients' opinions
I received intravenous vitamin therapy for burnout at the NYD clinic. The staff were friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend it!
Fast, efficient, quality. Thank you🌏
I took a 5-pack of acupuncture for neck pain. This package is much better value for money. I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the facilities are modern and very clean. I will be happy to go for any therapy or procedure.
I recommend them, I only go to them for fillers (forehead and between the eyebrows) in Ljubljana. The premises are nicely decorated and I had my turn at the appointed time without any waiting.
