We carry out medical examinations both for candidate drivers and medical examinations for the renewal of driving licences.

Checks for drivers
At NYD Clinic, medical examinations for motor vehicle drivers are quick, efficient and stress-free. Speed does not mean a compromise on quality, as all medical examinations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Rules on the Medical Fitness of Motor Vehicle Drivers. The main goal is to ensure the physical and mental capability of the candidate, as your safety in road traffic is always our top priority. In a few steps, you will obtain everything you need to safely get behind the wheel. Drivers of all categories are welcome, from amateur A and B to professional C and D, as well as supplementary E. Your medical certificate is waiting for you.
In Slovenia, the validity of a driving licence is determined by the licence category and the driver's age. Renewing a driving licence is not merely a formality; individuals must undergo a comprehensive medical examination performed by a specialist in occupational, traffic and sports medicine. This ranges from anthropometric measurements and a vision test, to an ECG in certain cases, a psychological evaluation and laboratory tests. The psychological evaluation must be completed by all professional drivers, drivers of categories C, D and E, and senior drivers over the age of 70. All of the aforementioned examinations are carried out at the NYD Clinic, without the need for unnecessary visits to other institutions. The psychological evaluation is also performed on our premises. The base price for categories A and B includes a vision test. For categories C, D and E, the service includes a vision test, perimetry, an ECG and laboratory tests. Audiogram testing, vestibulogram testing, drug testing and the psychological evaluation are subject to an additional charge.
At NYD Clinic, we strive every day to provide quality driver medical examinations based on precision and professionalism. You can be scheduled within just one week, You will receive the medical certificate after the services have been completed and when the doctor has all the necessary documentation (medical record, test results). If all the documentation is available on the day of the examination, the certificate can be issued the same day.
With us, obtaining or renewing a driving licence is quick and efficient. For the medical examination you only need a valid identity document, glasses or contact lenses if you wear them, and your medical records or consent for the CRPP; we take care of everything else. You can obtain your medical records from your chosen general practitioner. If you are a foreigner or do not have a chosen general practitioner, the medical records will be replaced by a completed statement.
Unfortunately, in our clinic we do not carry out examinations for drivers immediately after the revocation of a driving licence. In accordance with public legislation, drivers in such cases must contact authorised providers of occupational, traffic and sports medicine, who are solely competent to carry out these examinations. 5. Is the psychological evaluation compulsory?
A psychological examination is mandatory for drivers of categories C, D and E, and compulsory for all drivers over the age of 70.
For amateur drivers, a psychological assessment is not necessary, or the doctor may subsequently decide on an additional psychological assessment.6. What does the medical examination for drivers consist of?
The examination for category A and B includes an eye test, blood pressure measurement, a consultation and a clinical examination by a specialist doctor. Other additional tests are only in rare cases the decision of the specialist doctor.7. How long is a medical certificate valid for?
The period of validity of the medical certificate will depend on the individual and their state of health.
8. How long does the entire examination take?
The examination itself takes between 20 and 40 minutes, and the entire appointment can in rare cases take up to 2 hours.9. Can I come for an appointment without a referral?
